The bunk-bedded room
This is a Bed and Breakfast option we offer to host young people – usually sailors who come to the Sailing Academy for training. We provide them with a “loco-parentis” service, they become part of our family provided with bed, breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal. We have a bunk bedded room which sleeps two within the family home with access to a shared bathroom and drying facilities.
Fortune House is just a 10-minute walk from the WPNSA and ideally located for students to walk to and from the centre. Alternatively, cycling is an option. We will dry wet sailing kit and send them on their way the next day.
We have been hosting foreign language students for several years now, often they attend a language school in the morning and a sailing course in the afternoon so we have decided to offer this to teenage sailors from the age of 10 upwards.
Students have the benefit of staying with Richard Woof who is a local boat builder and has a lifetime’s knowledge of sailing and sail boats. He is a qualified RYA instructor and active member of Castle Cove Sailing Club, always happy to help students.
